Regarding Realtors
If you are a realtor representing property located in the Town of Rockville, to a prospective buyer, please refer them to the Town’s UDO.
There are a number of considerations related to the Town’s zoning and DRB regulations that buyer’s should be made aware of before planning to change the outward appearance of any home and/or lot. Members of the Town’s DRB are available to help as well.
What if I want to change the outward appearance of my house or real property?
Changes made to the outward appearance of real property located in the Town, beyond normal upkeep, mowing, etc., are matters best addressed to the Town’s Design and Review Board (DRB). They are more than happy to assist you regarding structural changes to homes, tree pruning/removal, painting, etc. This is especially true for homes located in the historic district or “village” portion of the Town. A simple email or phone call prior to any one on the Town Mayor/Council or DRB prior to commencement of the subject changes is always appropriate. Visit our DRB page here.
How can I obtain a copy of an Ordinance or Resolution?
Our City laws are located at the Code of Ordinances link on our web site. Here you can find the Code of Ordinances, as well as the Unified Devlopment Ordinance (UDO).
Is the Town of Rockville involved with the Rockville Regatta?
The “races” are a long tradition in the Town of Rockville but ironically the Town itself has little to do with hosting the oldest continually held regatta in North America.
The Rockville Regatta is actually a private sailboat race held annually on the 1st weekend in August and is officially hosted by the Sea Island Yacht Club. For further information you would contact the Yacht Club’s Commodore or a member of its Board of Directors.
For information, call (843) 559-1410.
