COMMITTEE REPORTS:

- Code Enforcement. No one reporting.

Miller’s detached garage application was approved. Huey’s dock repair application was approved. Morgan’s house addition was approved.
- WLPC: Henry Holst representing. Bolts attended WILPC meeting to indicate that they would change/reduce PD request. WILPC indicated to the Bolts that the decision was out of WILPC hands and the County has jurisdiction and there was no further discussion of the topic at that point.
NEW BUSINESS:
Emergency tree cutting. In the interest of safety, Council supports tree cutting, but suggests taking photos and documenting all work if any town citizen has questions.
Reminder to Clerk to post minutes on town Website.
Storm debris removal. SCDOT has indicated that they will clean Maybank (a state road), but not sure when. Regarding Harts, Rockland, Grace Chapel and SIYC roads, FEMA has not made a declaration to fund the County to clean-up. The Town has a contract with the County to clean these roads that can be very expensive – Town may be responsible for 25% of cost up to 100% depending on FEMA funds.
Mayor has corresponded with Chris Wannamaker, the County representative of Storm Debris Removal. The Town has decided not to engage County debris removal services until the Town is made aware of the cost. Storm Debris Removal is in the Town Budget. Mayor has spoken with Daniel Hatchell who has quoted $100 per load to remove debris. Other quotes to be sought out. Special meeting may be held to compare quotes.
Allen Holmes comments, for the record, that the general road repairs need to move forward. Mayor refreshed council’s memory on findings by Charleston Green during initial efforts to fix the roads. Root systems interfered with grading. Truly fixing may require a minimum of 60 truck loads of dirt at $375 per and then will need to be graded. Mayor suggests a temporary fix to make traversable in the $1000-$2000 range. The services of an Engineer may be required for the long-term remedy. Mayor to contact a County Engineer for advice.
